The facility is an independent 25-bed hospital for people with complex mental health problems

Albert D’Mello, who lives in a block of flats next door to the hospital, said a staff member had told him a nurse had died.

He said: ‘We didn’t have a clue what happened. All I saw were ambulances and police cars.

One of the nurses there was in the office and apparently one of the patients went in and just stabbed him to death.
